• The current position of the State of Florida according to news reports is to implement the Medicaid Reform pilot programs (Duval and Broward) STATEWIDE NOW!
• According to a high ranking AHCA official, the only way independent pharmacies will be able to participate in the Medicaid Reform Act is through a NETWORK which will contract with an HMO to provide services.
• In order to participate with the group the FCPS/N is negotiating with, you will have to be a member of FCPS/N.
• If chains unite to obtain Medicaid bids, we will have a competitive NETWORK which could participate.
• If we unite as a NETWORK we would be able to participate equally with the chains. Independents provide more services!
• It is obvious that AHCA is not going to protect you, only a NETWORK will work on your behalf.
• If you do not belong to a network that negotiates in your behalf, will you be able to continue to serve your patients?
• FCPS/N will be one of the major providers with the support of independent pharmacy owners.
