MISSION STATEMENT
The purpose of the Florida Community Pharmacy Society and Network is to serve
the interests of independent community pharmacies and their ability to compete
in the world of business, as well as serve their communities as pharmacy has
for centuries without regard to race, religion or gender.
Promoting the Profession of Pharmacy
FCPS/N-PAC is the
Florida Community Pharmacy Society / Network and Political Action Committee
which represent independent pharmacy owners and those that support their goals
and objectives. The organizations are committed to represent, promote and
protect the practices of the independent pharmacy owners in Florida on behalf
of the patients they serve. FCPS/N-PAC have been in existence since 2003 and
have already proven their value to the profession of pharmacy. In 2004 the
PAC contributed to 24 successful candidates for election. During the 2005
legislative session it was through the proactive work of FCPS/N-PAC members
that the Medicaid reimbursements for pharmacy were NOT reduced. The members
are currently (2006) involved in monitoring the Medicaid Reform Law affecting
Duval and Broward counties as well as all other pharmacy bills. The FCPS/N-PAC
is seeking ways to enable the Network to participate in contracting with the
to be named state awarded healthcare providers. The FCPS/N Legislative Team
( committee ) is also working closely with Ed Jaffry and his legislative team
from Akerman-Senterfitt law firm as they monitor and testify on behalf of
FCPS/N and the profession of pharmacy.
